Z-Trip’s Obama Mix

I intentionally tried to stay away from any politics over the course of the last few years — I mean with so many more qualified blogs out there, who am I to get into the mix? But when the political and musical spheres bump heads, I guess it’s a little more appropriate to follow course, so here is a mirrored post of a phenomenal, politically-inspired mix from turntable guru Z-Trip. In his trademark style, the mighty one rips through every genre, cuts in moving speech snippets, and generally gets you pumped up to get the fucking polls. And yes, Scissorkick fully endorses CHANGE, and our man Barack Obama. Get and vote people.

Here’s the skinny from Z-Trip himself:

Recently, Shepard Fairey and I threw some fundraisers for the Obama campaign. We called them “The Party for Change”. (If you don’t know who Shepard is—among many other things—he is the one responsible for the image on the right).

I’ve been wanting to put the mix I’ve been doing at these shows online, in hopes of spreading the word to people who need to hear it most. So, here it is: (zipped vbr mp3 / 84.7 MB)

Steve Marchese has been doing scissorkick for almost a decade now -- in one form or another. Since he was sleeping on pizzabox pillows. Since he was taking 3-hour showers. Scissorkick predates 9/11 and has been in the city as long as he has. It's a love affair that takes less than it gives back and that's mostly thanks to you.
