Candy Claws

I’ve always been attracted to soundscapes: worlds built out of voices, keyboards, and feedback that balance between detached and alien, as well as emotional and personal.

Candy Claws, from Fort Collins, CO, delivers a distinctive brand of organic and atmospheric soundscapes.

Warm Forest Floor is exemplary of their discography.  The songs have a dream like quality, with subtle shifts and hooks.  They flow naturally, yet are also composed and thought out.

The voices sit in the middle of the mix, and are a dreamy, whispered affair.  They become another instrument; instead of clear lyrics, they croon and sweep through the song.

Listening to this, you can’t help but feel you’re right there with the band.  Soaring through the atmosphere of some beautiful and timeless world.
